ESPO 2011

May 5-6, 2011

Limassol, Cyprus

ESPO represents the seaports of the Member States of the European Union and has observer members from several other European countries. ESPO ensures that seaports have a clear voice in the European Union.

The European Sea Ports  Conference (ESPO)  2011 will explore the complex, but fundamental theme  of port performance with the help of port practitioners, (port) community stakeholders as well as policy and academic experts. Hence, the topic of this year's conference is " Optimising Port  Performance " and it will address both practice and policy by combining the theme of port performance with a review of the current EU policy framework for ports.

The conference programme will include an update on relevant EU policy developments as well as a latest appraisal of the economic climate in which European ports operate. Finally, continuing the series of regional seminars held in Marseilles (2009) and Helsinki (2010), a special interest seminar will be held on port development in the East Mediterranean and Black Sea.
