NMU keynote speech at the North Sea Region Programme Conference

NMU’s project leader, Gordon Wilmsmeier (Edinburgh Napier University), gave a keynote speech at the Annual Conference 2009 of the North Sea Region Programme. Wilmsmeier’s presentation focused on "Sustainable Innovation – challenges for maritime transport policy".

Furthermore, our NMU project partner, Susanne Neumann (Universities of Applied Sciences Kiel and Bremen), held the presentation "Innovative concepts for transnational education and research in maritime transport".

The international conference was held in Egmond aan Zee/Haarlem, the Netherlands from the 24th to the 26th June 2009. Under the title "Sustainable Innovation" the conference was focused on the social and environmental dimensions of innovation in the context of transnational cooperation and the European policy framework.
The conference marked the main annual event of the North Sea Region Programme 2007-2013, which aims to expand the scope of transnational cooperation and facilitate relevant and innovative projects for the North Sea Region.
