NMU Meeting in Edinburgh: Start of the extension phase
Written by Gesine Stück | Tuesday, 22 March 2011 |
On March 3rd the NMU Project Steering Committee met at the lead partner Transport Research Institute (TRI) in Edinburgh, Scotland. The project partners focussed on strategic considerations about the NMU project.
A main point of the meeting was the updated work plan for the extension phase until June 2012. The module development was defined in detail; six new modules will be planned during the extension phase.
Another important aspect of the meeting was the discussion of sustainability strategies of the NMU project beyond the projects’ end in 2012. This will be achieved through a business-model for sustainability and the implementation of a NMU secretariat.
For the extension phase, the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering, University of Hamburg, Germany, as well as the Maritime Development Center of Europe, Denmark, joined the NMU network as new partners.
