Save the date! NMU Conference

Northern Maritime University LogoThe launching of the Northern Maritime University network will take place on
Thursday, 21st of June 2012 in Speicher XI Bremen, Germany.

The conference, takes theme "NMU Network Innovation in Maritime Education and Training", consists of two sessions and a panel discussion.

Confirmed speakers for the first session “Competence development for academics and maritime industry” are Dr Max Johns, Managing Director of the German Shipowners’ Association and Mr. Giovanni Mendola from the European Commission DG Transport Maritime Safety Unit for Europe.

In the second session “Enhancing the attractiveness of careers in the maritime industry” Harald Hjelle, University College Molde, will talk about whether the recruitment initiatives of the maritime industry communicate well with Generation Y.

The sessions will be moderated by Thomas Pawlik from University of Applied Sciences Bremen and Jens Froese from Jacobs University.

Participants of the panel discussion: Ms. Miaojia Liu, Chief Education Officer of BIMCO and NMU partner Gavin Roser, Pantrak Transportation Ltd.
